However, Jos Buttler, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell among others, will be reaching the country on Wednesday night to complete their IPL duties.A high-ranked official of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said his understanding is some England players are returning to complete the league engagements while some others have chosen not to, a development confirmed by their respective franchises as well.According to information obtained from the ECB and franchises, Buttler, former England white ball captain, will reach Ahmedabad on Wednesday night and the same is the case with Will Jacks, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder, who should be at the Wankhede Stadium for practice from Thursday (April 15). Liam Livingstone, the all-rounder from Lancashire, who is with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is believed to be on a flight to Bengaluru. There is, however, no clarity on Phil Salt, the other recruit from England, but Bethell is understood to be on way to India.Chennai Super Kings have confirmed to Cricbuzz that Curran and Overton are not coming back, and the franchise has no plans to seek temporary replacements for the England players. With CSK not having a chance to qualify for the playoffs, the team seems to be taking it easy. Rajasthan Royals have revealed that Archer will not return because he is injured and not for any other reason. "It is not a case of not being willing because we are out of reckoning for playoffs. He is nurturing an injury and we are prioritizing his fitness," an RR official said.Moeen Ali, who represents Kolkata Knight Riders, is apparently undecided whether to come back or not. His father Munir Ali told this website he will be in a position to clarify in the next 24 hours.Earlier on Tuesday (May 13), the ECB named Archer, Bethell, Buttler, Jacks and Overton in the Harry Brook-led ODI squad that will play three ODIs against West Indies on May 29, June 1 and 3. It means all these players will not be available for the playoffs of the IPL and will have to return to England after the league stage of the IPL, which concludes on May 27.After a one week pause, the IPL resumes on May 17 in Bengaluru.
