Robin and Ecklund Advance to Doubles Round of 16 at ITA Regional Championships

Bruins’ Doubles Duo Tops Butler’s 11th-Seeded Tandem Saturday Morning in Round of 32

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – On the third day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional Championships at Purdue University's Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana, the Belmont University men's tennis team's Charlie Robin and Will Ecklund advanced to the doubles round of 16. The duo earned a round of 32 victory Saturday morning, defeating Butler's 11th-seeded tandem of Rahulniket Konakanchi and Nicolas Arts 8-6.

Sophomore Robin and graduate Ecklund will take on eighth-seeded Martin Vergara Del Puerto and Oscar Martinez of East Tennessee State University Sunday morning in the third round.

The fourth-seeded pair of senior Sabi Roi and junior Stefan Vedovelli were upset in their round of 32 match Saturday morning, falling to the Boilermakers' Stefan Simeunovic and Nour Fathalla 8-5.

First serve of Sunday's round of 16 doubles is set for 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET with the quarterfinals following at 9:45 a.m. CT/10:45 a.m. ET.
