India’s FC Goa qualified for the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 football tournament after a 2-1 win over Omani champions Al Seeb Club at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Wednesday.Dejan Drazic broke the deadlock in the 24th minute before Javier Siverio doubled the lead in the 51st minute. Nasser Al-Rawahi pulled one back for Al Seeb Club on the hour mark.The home side showed some intent in the opening moments, but it was Al Seeb Club that dominated the early exchanges.Despite the early pressure and possession, clear-cut chances were hard to come by for the Omani club, while FC Goa looked threatening from set-pieces.The breakthrough eventually came in the 24th minute thanks to a moment of class from Dejan Drazic.Latching onto a ball in his own half, the Serbian skipped past the onrushing goalkeeper with a deft touch before calmly chipping the ball over a retreating defender from the edge of the box to give the Gaurs a 1-0 lead.Al Seeb Club looked to hit back instantly but FC Goa kept their shape and were compact at the back, making it difficult for the visitors to create any openings.The Omani champions did have a chance to equalise on the stroke of half-time after winning a free-kick in a dangerous position.However, Al Sulaiman Al-Busaidi’s driven effort from the edge of the box flashed across the face of goal, evading any decisive touch before drifting narrowly wide as FC Goa took a 1-0 lead into the interval.
