Screen grab: NFL NetworkIt can be tricky any time your employer gets purchased by another company. But if his wardrobe selection is any indication, Kyle Brandt is nothing but excited about ESPN’s impending acquisition of multiple NFL Media assets, including the NFL Network and RedZoneMonday’s episode of Good Morning Football marked the first since The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported last Friday that the long-awaited deal has been agreed to. And the former Real World star dressed for the occasion, donning a SportsCenter t-shirt, which he also promoted on social media.GOOD MORNING FOOTBALL, Live! right now on @nflnetwork baby 🏈 pic.twitter.com/45PhDsNRb4 — Kyle Brandt (@KyleBrandt) August 4, 2025While Brandt unsurprisingly didn’t address the agreement — which is expected to be announced later this week — directly, he did manage to make at least one thinly veiled reference to the news. As host Jamie Erdahl kicked off Monday’s episode of Good Morning Football by calling attention to Micah Parsons’ trade request, Brandt joked that he thought she was talking about something else.“When you said ‘Friday news dump,’ I thought you were talking about in the media world,” he replied to Erdahl. “But OK, you’re talking about the Cowboys. I got it.”Jamie Erdahl: “The Friday news dump, it hits a little different when it involves the Cowboys and Micah Parsons.” Kyle Brandt: “When you said ‘Friday news dump,’ I thought you were talking about in the media world. I got it.” https://t.co/KaAE8LzDIB pic.twitter.com/5BPlzH7yyg — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) August 4, 2025It’s far too early to know what it will actually look like when ESPN does take over operations of the NFL Network and it’s worth noting that the entire acquisition will need to receive regulatory approval, which is expected to take between nine and 12 months to obtain. But it’s certainly not crazy to think that a Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager reunion could be in order, especially with the ex-GMFB host-turned-ESPN personality reportedly expected to land his own football-focused show at the Worldwide Leader in the months ahead. With an official announcement of the agreement expected later this week, there will surely be no shortage of fallout in the days to come. Until then, we’ll just have to read between the lines of both Brandt’s words and his t-shirt selection.
