The Opta Supercomputer has delivered its verdict on Leeds United’s chances of opening their Premier League campaign with a win over Everton.Leeds face Everton in the opening game of the Premier League season for the first time since the year 2000, when two goals from Alan Smith secured victory for the Whites.A quarter of a century later, Daniel Farke is looking to repeat that result as the Whites look to defy the odds and secure their top-flight status this season.Farke will be without new signing Jaka Bijol for the game, and there are doubts over the fitness of Jayden Bogle, who is racing against time to recover from a hip injury which ruled him out of Leeds’ final pre-season friendly against AC Milan. However, this has not put off the Opta Supercomputer, which has backed the Whites to kick off the season with a win at Elland Road.Photo By Stephen McCarthy/Sportsfile via Getty ImagesOpta Supercomputer backs Leeds to beat EvertonDespite predicting that Leeds would be relegated this season, Opta’s Supercomputer has thrown its weight behind the Whites in their Premier League opener.According to the computerised clairvoyant, Leeds have a win percentage of 39.5% heading into their first game back in the Premier League, giving Everton a 33.8% chance of winning the game. However, according to the article, Leeds will have to overcome David Moyes’ strong track record against the Whites, with the current Toffees boss having won 70% of the games he has coached against Leeds.MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIESBy contrast, Daniel Farke is looking to improve his poor track record in the top flight in his 50th Premier League game in charge. He has just six wins from 49 games to date, for a win rate of just 12.2%.Photo by Carl Recine/Getty ImagesDavid Moyes predicts tough Leeds United testMoyes last faced Leeds as a manager during his time as West Ham manager, as a goal from Rodrigo Moreno was not enough to prevent Leeds slipping to a 3-1 defeat during Sam Allardyce’s short and sour reign. However, despite his strong track record against the Whites, Moyes is expecting a difficult game when the two sides meet, as Leeds defend a strong track record in their opening Premier League game.Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, Moyes said: “[It will be] a tough game. I mean, it’s a brilliant stadium. It’s got brilliant support, sort of one club city. It’s been a fabulous football club for a long time.“I think we were all thrilled to see them back in the Premier League because of what they offer, mainly because of the support they have at Leeds United. So, they’ve been up and down a little bit, but it’s a tough game when you go to a newly promoted side right away.“But, you know, we finished the season really well, especially when we were away from home and I hope we can continue that.”
