Amitabh Bachchan Goes ‘Thok Diya’ As India Clinches Historic First Test Win Against England

India beat England by 336 runs to get their first-ever Test match win at Edgbaston, a venue where they had not won a Test before. This win in Birmingham was also India’s biggest away Test win in terms of runs and also Shubhman Gill's maiden as a Test captain. Also, Akash Deep had the time of his life as he returned with six wickets in the second innings of the Edgbaston Test to help the visitors register a memorable 336-run in the second game of the five-match series. As a result of this effort, India registered their first-ever Test win at Edgbaston.

After the historic win, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan couldn't stop himself from celebrating. He penned 'Thok Diya... Cricket Mein' on X and fans have joined in the comment section as the feeling of happiness is mutual.

Earlier, Suniel Shetty too celebrated the big win and took a picture to X of the Indian cricket match. He wrote, "A young team. A big stage. And what a win! Grit, guts and glory — this squad is growing into something special. Onwards and upwards Team India!"

Earlier, when Shubman Gill played an innings for the ages in the second Test vs England. Walking in at a crucial time, Gill set the stage for India's comeback with a meticulous 269-run inning. Shetty took to X, formerly Twitter, to laud Gill's exceptional performance, with which he broke plethora of records. Sharing a picture of Gill celebrating his landmark score, Suniel bowed down to him. He wrote, "A double ton carved with class, calm and pure determination. Take a bow @ShubmanGill."

Senior Bachchan on the other hand have been praising son Abhishek Bachchan's latest release Kaalidhar Laapata on social media leaving fans excited for this one.
