Liverpool transfer news: Jeremie Frimpong move ‘done’ as Reds release official statement

Liverpool have not even lifted the 2024/25 Premier League crown yet but it appears that Arne Slot’s side already have some big plans in place when it comes to the transfer window

Liverpool already look keen to hold onto the Premier League crown next season. The Reds have not even lifted the trophy for this term yet, but planning has already started for next term.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Anfield has already been confirmed and his eventual replacement already looks to be on the way. There could yet be a lot more business officially completed this summer, with there set to be two transfer windows this summer.

A number of stars have been linked with moves to Merseyside over the coming months. And any signings could leave Arne Slot with a few tricky decisions over his current squad.

Liverpool seal Frimpong deal

Liverpool have wasted no time in securing their first signing of the summer with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong set to arrive at the club. According to The Athletic, the Dutchman has agreed a five-year deal with the Premier League champions.

Liverpool are set to activate a €35million (£29.6m) release clause written into his contract with the German side. Frimpong is also set to undergo a medical with his potential new club.

Frimpong has been with Leverkusen since a move from Celtic in January 2021. He helped the side to the Bundesliga crown last term.

Bradley extends contract

On the topic of right-backs, Liverpool have announced that Conor Bradley has extended his stay with the club. The Reds have confirmed that he has signed a new long-term deal with the club.

“To sign another contract, I’m very proud and happy to see what the next steps on our journey together will be,” the young defender said. “You’ve just got to keep your head down and keep working hard.

“It has been a fantastic two years [with the senior team]. Especially since coming back from loan and doing so well last year and continuing that on this year. It’s been really good. So, hopefully we can keep going and keep making more memories.”

Salah opens door to De Bruyne

Liverpool star Mo Salah has suggested that Kevin De Bruyne would be welcome at Anfield once he leaves Manchester City. He said: “I want to tell him congratulations for your career.

“He’s done a phenomenal job at City, and he was great for the league. I really wish him the best…and we have a space for him!”

But Salah admitted that a move for De Bruyne was unlikely due to a club policy at Anfield. He added: "The philosophy of the club, I know how they deal with their players over 30 in the past. I didn't expect I was going to stay. It's not something bad. We see how they deal with this situation in the past.”
