Joe Carroll has been named as the new Cork senior ladies football manager following a meeting of the Cork LGFA on Monday night.

The current Éire Óg senior manager is a former Cork minor manager and he won an All-Ireland title in 2022 and two Munster titles with the minors.

He was also part of John Cleary's backroom team with the minors in 2018 and 2019 before he took over as manager.

For the last two seasons, he has been in charge of Éire Óg, who reached the Cork decider both years but lost out to Mourneabbey a year ago and last weekend were beaten by Aghada after a free shoot-out.

He was also involved with UCC last season in which they reached two inter-varsity finals, winning the Lynch Cup and losing in the O’Connor Cup final by just two points.

He will be bringing in Anne O’Grady, James McCarthy, Tadgh Buckley, and Brian McCarthy as part of his management team.

His first task next season will be to get Cork back out of Division Two to the top flight and anything after that will be a bonus for the Rebels.

Joe takes over from Shane Ronayne who stepped down some time ago after three years in charge of the Rebels.
