Man United could unleash Bruno Fernandes with dream teammate as new transfer option emerges

Manchester United face a frantic final few days of the summer transfer window before the deadline at 7pm on 1 September, with incomings and outgoings all possible

Midfield remains an area of much debate for Manchester United with the club yet to sign a single player in that area of the squad during this summer transfer window.

The team are still too reliant on Bruno Fernandes, and questions remain about the ability of Manuel Ugarte. Kobbie Mainoo, meanwhile, can barely get a game for his boyhood club. Saudi Pro League interest in Casemiro and Fernandes is also on-and-off.

However, they have yet to replace a player who has already gone, Christian Eriksen, and to a lesser extent, Toby Collyer. Below is a roundup of the latest transfer reports.

Midfielder 'under consideration'

United are said to be considering Conor Gallagher after opting against pursuing Carlos Baleba. TBR Football claims they will be aware of the England international's situation at Atletico Madrid and could move for the midfielder.

The MEN says: It is far from the first time United are credited with an interest in Gallagher, with links dating back to the player's time at Chelsea. The idea is that signing such a player would give Fernandes more freedom and take off much of the pressure from Mason Mount. There are worse midfielders the club could sign with days of the window remaining.

Sancho offered escape route

Jadon Sancho is said to be an option for Tottenham Hotspur as they try to replace their now-departed captain, Son Heung-Min. Spurs are pursuing Savinho from Manchester City to no avail, but TBR Football claims the situation involving Sancho and Tottenham is one to watch.

The MEN says: Remaining in the Premier League has always appeared most likely for Sancho, as clubs able to afford the player's wages overseas are few and far between. It remains conceivable that Spurs could turn to Sancho should they still need a new winger on deadline day, much like Chelsea were this time last year.
