Pakistan's Sidra Amin Penalized for ICC Code Breach

Pakistan cricketer Sidra Amin has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and handed a demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The incident occurred during the Women's World Cup match against India on Sunday.

Amin, who was Pakistan's top scorer with a knock of 81 runs, showed frustration after her dismissal by hitting her bat onto the pitch. This was interpreted as 'abuse of cricket equipment' under Article 2.2 of the ICC's Code of Conduct.

The ICC's panel, comprising on-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Nimali Perera, third umpire Kerrin Klaaste, and fourth umpire Kim Cotton, charged Amin. She admitted the breach and accepted the sanction without the need for a formal hearing.
