Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill added 105 runs in 9.5 overs for the first wicket on Sunday in Dubai and helped India secure a dominating win over Pakistan.

Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill were on fire with the bat for Team India on Sunday, September 21, against Pakistan. In the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s match played between the two arch-rivals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abhishek scored 74 runs from just 39 balls, and Gill added 47 runs from 28 balls to India’s total. During his stay at the crease in the match which India won by 6 wickets, Abhishek hammered 6 fours and 5 sixes and added 105 runs in 9.5 overs for the first wicket with Gill, who smacked eight fours.

In the clash where Abhishek won the Player Of The Match (POTM) award for his superb batting show, both the batters from Punjab got engaged in verbal fights with Pakistani pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf as well.

And so, post the conclusion of the match, they both took to X to share tweets and, via their four-word captions, took a savage dig at Pakistani cricket team players.

While in his viral post, Gill wrote, “Game speaks, not words." Abhishek shared four pictures from the match and captioned them, “You talk, we win."

Here’s a look:

In the high-voltage Super 4s match, Abhishek made headlines for his batting and, in the process, broke multiple batting records as well. He opened his account with a six on the first ball of the run chase. The six on the first ball off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s over helped him become the first Indian batter to hit six on the first ball of India’s innings in a T20I match on multiple occasions.

His second six of the match helped him take his tally of maximums to 50 in T20Is, and he became the fastest batter (in terms of balls taken) among full member nations to reach the 50 sixes mark in T20Is. Abhishek slammed his 50th T20I six on the 331st ball he faced.

Abhishek completed his half-century in just 24 balls, which helped him break Yuvraj Singh’s record of scoring the fastest 50 for Men in Blue in a T20I match against Pakistan. During the India-Pakistan match played in Ahmedabad on December 28, 2012, Yuvraj crossed the 50-run mark in 29 balls.

Abhishek, who is the world’s No. 1 T20I batter, will be next seen in action for Team India on Wednesday, September 24, against Bangladesh in Dubai.
