Good partnerships play a pivotal role in determining outcomes in cricket matches across formats and the Indian Premier League (IPL) is no different.Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers hold the record for the highest partnership in IPL history after combining for a mammoth 229-run stand for the second wicket against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions in the 2016 season.Kohli hammered 109 - one of his record eight IPL centuries - at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium while de Villiers remained unbeaten on 129 as RCB posted a commanding 248/3 in their 20 overs before eventually winning the match by 144 runs.Almost a decade on, the Virat Kohli and ABD’s record still remains untouched in the IPL.In fact, Virat Kohli and ABD are also placed second on the list of highest partnerships in IPL history with an unbeaten 2015-run stand against Mumbai Indians in the 2015 season.Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 on that occasion with ABD staying not out on 133 as RCB managed to win the contest by 39 runs.Highest partnership in IPL
