Shea Lacey has just done something for the first time in his Man Utd career

Manchester United’s leading light in the academy right now is Shea Lacey, and the 18-year-old has now hit new heights.

It is a matter of time until Shea Lacey becomes the 255th Manchester United academy graduate, as the Liverpudlian just continues to knock on the door of the first team.

Ruben Amorim is already plotting Lacey’s debut, with the teenager spending the past few months in and around the senior side as he continues to be managed carefully after 24 months of injury woes.

In these sessions, Lacey has been impressing United’s senior team, with fitness being the only thing that could hold back the club’s number 61, and wearing that figure on his shirt, he has now reached new heights.

Lacey has managed to string a consistent run of games together and appears to have put the nightmare injury streak behind him.

Well, on Tuesday, Lacey continued this streak as he started for United against League Two’s fifth-best team, Notts County, and it was a new milestone for the wonderkid.

Lacey opened the scoring for United in the EFL Trophy, and this marked the first goal of his career against senior opposition, which is an impressive feat.

It was a good goal too, with Chido Obi pulling out an excellent assist before Lacey finished excellently, and it was the cherry on top of an all-round impressive performance.

Despite his age and alarming lack of football from October 2023 to August 2025, Lacey’s development didn’t stagnate, and instead, he seems to be in a great place, but he will only get better.

In response to this, Gabriele Biancheri commented, “Top.”

Additionally, Obi replied, “How may I assist you lil man”.

There were lots more United academy players sending hearts and other emojis too, with Jaydan Kamason commenting, “what a guy”.
