Man Utd fans to wait until pre-season friendly in Chicago to see new 2025/26 home kit in action

The new Manchester United home strip for the 2025/26 season was released on 12 June, but fans will have to wait a little longer to see a glimpse of it in action.

There is always excitement when Manchester United release a new kit, especially among the youngest members of the fanbase. It is also a costly time of the year for fans, having to purchase multiple shirts to keep their loved ones happy.

The kit, predominantly red, stands out with its white logos and black accents. It is the first of three kits to be released by Adidas for United this year, on top of other ranges for training and casual wear.

Like previous United home shirts, the 2025/26 home kit will be a best seller, regardless of the costs involved with football gear nowadays.

There are many similarities to the home shirt from last season, but Ruben Amorim will be hoping that the results on the pitch improve. Otherwise, it won’t be a home shirt to remember at Old Trafford.

When will Man Utd wear the new home kit for the first time?

Most United fans would have assumed that they would see the new home kit in action for the first time when Amorim’s side takes on Leeds in Stockholm for their first pre-season friendly.

But that will not be the case.

United have announced they will wear their new home kit for the first time in the Premier League Summer Series game against Bournemouth at Soldier Field.

The game will take place in Chicago, United States, on 31 July. It will be the third of United’s pre-season fixtures, meaning fans have no other choice but to wait to get a glimpse of it in action.

After facing Leeds, United will take on West Ham in New Jersey for their first game of the Premier League Summer Series.

United will also wear the new home kit at Old Trafford when they host Fiorentina in their last pre-season friendly before the Premier League campaign kicks off against Arsenal. It will also be worn against the Gunners for the first time in a competitive fixture.

What is the Premier League Summer Series?

The 2025 series will involve four Premier League clubs, including United.

It’s essentially a six-match pre-season championship between four Premier League clubs, with the matches played across three US cities.

The other clubs are Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham.

It will be the second series since the inaugural championship took place in 2023.
