The Brisbane Lions confirm the Club has made further list changes ahead of 2026.The Club is excited to announce emerging duo James Tunstill and Luke Beecken have re-signed for next season.Tunstill, a midfielder originally from Western Australia, has played 12 games since being drafted in 2021 and continues to knock on the door each week for AFL selection.Beecken, who made his AFL debut in the Lions’ win over Fremantle in Round 23, has also developed strongly since joining the Club via the mid-season rookie draft in 2023.The SANFL premiership player has been a consistent performer at VFL level providing dash off half-back showing his ability to break lines and put speed on the ball.Brisbane Lions List Manager Dom Ambrogio said it was great to have the young duo re-sign.“We are really happy to have James and Luke commit to the Club for another season and they earnt the opportunity to do so through hard work,” Ambrogio said.“Jimmy is someone who has been in strong form in the VFL which has put him in contention for AFL selection each week now and we have no doubt he will continue to work hard in 2026.“With Luke, we have seen him make a good impression since joining us via the 2024 midseason rookie draft which was highlighted by him being a joint winner of this year’s VFL Club Best and Fairest.“We look forward to seeing both players continue to work hard to have them ready for solid 2026 seasons.”The Lions also confirm they have delisted midfielder Deven Robertson after both parties agreed the timing was right to pursue other opportunities.Robertson, taken with Pick 22 in the 2019 draft, departs Brighton Homes Arena after 47 games across six seasons as he returns home to Western Australia with the intention of joining West Coast.“Dev has given his all during his time at the Brisbane Lions which saw him play some strong football including being part of our 2023 Grand Final team,” Ambrogio said.“At VFL level this year he has been one of our best players as a joint winner of the Club’s VFL Best and Fairest.“Though having only played six AFL games the past two seasons, we supported Dev in his decision to seek further opportunities which he has chosen to do.“We thank Dev for his contribution to the Brisbane Lions and wish him well for the future.”Robertson thanked the Lions for his time at the Club and said that he departs on good terms.“I am very grateful to the Club for giving me the opportunity of being in the AFL for the past six years,” Robertson said.“I am sad to be leaving and will miss the playing group and staff, but it is the right time in my career to look for more AFL opportunities.”
